French WWI M1886 Lebel Bayonet & Scabbard, Remington Production

Original era manufacture. A Remington contract production bayonet, removable grip with a 20 inch cruciform blade in original finish, steel lock button & guard with the quillon deleted during the manufacturing process. Tubular steel scabbard with a nice blue finish and dent free. In 1916 Remington was given a contract by the French government for 200,000 Berthier rifles & Lebel pattern bayonets. While some of the production reached France prior to the end of WWI, many did not, and remained at the Remington factory. Our bayonet is an example which stayed stateside, not making the journey across the pond. It displays no markings or serial number, and is in unused condition.
