Description

Original era manufacture. A complete grouping of documents and awards from a family of a young man who entered the army in 1940. He was posted to IR 82, which formed part of the 31st Infantry Division. During his servicehe participated in Operation Barbarossa with Army Group Center, to include the advance on Moscow and theBattle of Kursk.He was killed on the 9th of September 1943. The lot includes his Wehrpass & photo, which was returned to his family after his death. Numerous entries arewritten on its pages to include the battles he participated in, weapons training and list of his awards with dates. His photograph is placed in the cover. Thedocuments includeIron Cross 2nd Class signed by his Divisional Commander,Wound Badge in Black, Eastern Front Medal and document for the Westwall Medal. Nice EK2 complete with ribbon which has a small hook at the top for display, early Ostfront medal with lots of finish remaining, stamped brass Black Wound Badge with most of its originalpaint finish intact and a near new condition Westwallmedal in envelope.
