Japanese WWII Navy Officers Sword, 26 Inch Blade

Original era manufacture. Standard pattern Imperial Japanese Navy officer sword with a 26 inch chromed steel blade. The blade is clean, no corrosion issues, runs straight and true with a few, very small nicks in the cutting edge. Brass toned, decorative guard which folds on one side; fishskin wrapped grip bound with triple strand twisted wire.The black leather bodied scabbard is sound, stitching tight, with two creases in the body but no breaks. Decorative brass gilded brass mounts with two suspension rings. No lip to the scabbard throat.
