Description

Original era manufacture. An interesting example of an early issue Wehrpass which chronicles the service history of a young soldier who joined the army in 1936, and lost his life in Russia in 1944Unusual for a Wehrpass, his photo shows him in uniform, wearing an early pattern Army tunic, with a feldgrau collar. Numerous entries are inside, including a fold-down insert listing his service campaigns beginning in 1939 and ending in 1943. His last duty listing was with the staff of XXXV Army Corps, until 22 May 1944, the date of his death. He received instruction on the Gewehr 98, MG 08/15 and Luger Pistol. He received the Iron Cross 2nd Class in 1939, and the First Class in 1940, along with the Wound Badge in black.  Sound condition, excellent research potential.
