Original era manufacture. A beautiful example of the sword makers art, eight inch blade made from an cut-down sword, the tang is unsigned. Very attractive and very clear temper line on each side of the blade.Fine quality guard with a floral decoration, the collar and pommel cap are similarly decorated with gold highlights. Matching menuki in the shape of a Dove, again with gold decoration. Fishskin covered grip made without the need of cloth binding.Wooden lined scabbard with an exterior covering of segmented bands in dark red, with a black cap at the base and scabbard throat. There is a small knife in the scabbard body with a gold decorated handle, with two kanji on the blade.Original cloth wrapping around the scabbard body and in a correct style 'tie'.Overall a beautiful old weapon, priced at what you would pay for a 1st Model Luftwaffe dagger.
