US Civil War, Plymouth Rifle Bayonet, Collins & Co. Mfg

Original period manufacture. A very handsome sword bayonet with Yataghan style blade and a cast brass guard and grip. The blade measures 22.5 inches in length with the makers name COLLINS & CO. HARTFORD.CONN. in an arc on the reverse ricasso. The blade is quite clean for its age with just some light staining but no pitting. The grip has theserial number 9086 stamped into it on the top of the grip next to the bayonet stud slot. Nice old bayonet, no scabbard.
