Early M35 Luftwaffe double decal steel helmet with droop tail eagle ET62 1938 unit marked

Description

M35 blue colored Luftwaffe helmet with double decals. The Luftwaffe eagle is the desirable first pattern model often referred to as the 'Droop Tail' or 'Snake Leg' variant, typical for this manufacturer. Both decals are present and show light wear. The helmet is complete with an early single band aluminum liner (dated 1938 and made by Schuberth-Werk) – I believe the liner is original to the helmet but might have been taken out by playing children after the war as the pins are a bit crooked. The leather feels soft and remains strong. The liner still has its full length draw string and chin strap attached. The chin strap is a textbook LW example in chocolate brown color, having a LBA Luftwaffe acceptance stamp. The rear of the leather is unit marked, which is always a nice extra touch. Maker marked by ET (Eisenhüttenwerk Thale) size 62 (ET62), lot number 3584. The helmet once came from the great collection of Ron Richter (Ron R.) and his serial number sticker '331' is still visible. Here is an old thread on the forum about it.
