Description

Original era manufacture. Horstman contract body of felt, with an Artillery eagle plate with a German silver Ordnance Corps device on front. Stamped brass Artillery side buttons. The helmet body is sound, no dents or cracks, the thin rim binding is sound, the thin leather band around the body of the helmet is present, but cracked in the back. There is enough of the band to cover the split ends, but needs to be glued into place.Size marked 7, no extra holes in the body from other insignia. Likely assembled from parts at one time available from the venerable firms of Francis Bannerman and W.
