Description
Original era manufacture. A decent example, with a clean blade exhibiting a gleam to the steel finish, and evidence of some light corrosionand spotting and staining.Turned oak grip with a clear U.S. on one side, for some inexplicable reason, a previous owner decided that the sides of the grip needed to be flattened out for better handling evidently. I have to admit, it does feel more secure in the hand.Leather covered, metal bodied scabbardmissing its carrying/attaching ring on the reverse. With sound stitching, minor scuffing and a clear U.S. stamp on one side.Old set of initials J.W.H. carved into thereverse of the scabbard body.
