Austrian, Pattern 1858 Heavy Cavalry Sabre

Original era manufacture. Massive heavy cavalry sabre with a near 34 inch polished steel blade. The blade surface has a nice luster to it, with scattered areas of old corrosion pitting. It runs fairly straight and true, with a very slight bend to the left near the point.Heavy steel guard of a pierced design, with a leather wrapped grip without wire binding. Heavy, black painted steel scabbard with two suspension rings, sizable dent just below the top ring on one side. The blade can be drawn easily from the scabbard.
