Description

Original era manufacture. Patterned after the Roman Gladius, brass gripped, polished steel blade weapon issued to French Infantry.The blade measures 19 inches in length, with a raised central ridge on both sides. The blade hasa dark steel patina finish, with numerous nicks in the cutting edge on each side.One piece brass grip, with a serial number 770 appearing on the guard. Brass bodied leather scabbard, with a brass throat and chape. The guard also has the serial number 770, stamped below the throat.When the blade is inserted into the scabbard there is an 8 mm gap between the base of the guard and top of the scabbard throat.
