British Pre WWI, Royal Navy Officers Dirk, Edward VII 1901-1910

Original era manufacture. A very clean example of this handsome Royal Navy officers dirk by Gieves, Mathews & Seagrove Ltd of London.Polished steel blade measuring 18 inches in length with etched panels on each side, Edward VII cypher on the obverse. The blade is quite clean, no corrosion issues, just a few minor nicks in the edge.Nicely detailed gilded brass guard, backstrap and pommel, with a fishskin grip bound with triple strand wire.Black bodied scabbard with sound stitching, crease in the body below the upper fitting. Gilded brass throat and chape with the owners initials G.A.W.D. engraved on the surface.
