Description
Fine grade cloth construction, khaki-colored field cap used by the Japanese army until the end of the war. Above its stiffened, short visor, made of the same material as the body, and with five parallel rows of reinforced stitching to it, is sewn a pentagonal patch, in olive drab, upon which is embroidered a gilt wire five-pointed star. Small brass buttons, each with a five-lobed cherry blossom embossed to them secure the original chinstrap. Three metal ventilation grommets are to each side of the cap. Three grommets are to either side of the vertical slash to the reverse of the cap; the six bound together by an adjustable tie string. The interior is lined in silk with a brown leather sweatband. Owners embroidered initials badge present in the liner. A very nice light worn cap!
