German Pre, Franco-Prussian War Baden CDV, Early Pickelhaube

Original period manufacture. Clear CDV image of a Baden Infantryman with his early 1842 style helmet on a photographers table next to him. The Pickelhaube helmet, adopted by Baden in 1850, looks to have an un-fluted spike top. The image has been lightly enhanced by the photographer, with the buttons gilded, red trim to the cap and cuffs. Clear Baden logo on the reverse.
