US Civil War Cartridge Box Sling Plate, Field Recovered

Original era manufacture. Lead filled brass circular plate which was lost during the Civil War and then field recovered many decades later. Nice detail to the obverse with a deep plum colored patina. Lead filled reverse with an old inventory number in black ink.
