US Indian War Era, M1872 Enlisted Kepi, Horstmann Mfg

Original period manufacture. Private purchase quality enlisted kepi with a collector applied 1872 pattern cavalry emblem on the front. Unbound black painted leather visor, with a simple black leather chinstrap, secured with two Staff pattern eagle buttons. Black polished cotton lining with a very clear Horstmann trademark in silver paint. Sound brown leather sweatband, size marked 6 1/4. No moth issues, not crushed or flattened.
