US WWI Identified Doughboy Gasmask & 27th Division Marked Steel Helmet

Sold
$350.00

Description

Original period manufacture. Wonderfully marked Doughboy issue gasmask to a soldier who served with the 107th Field Hospital, 27th Division in France during WWI. The hose is attached to the canister, but not to the mask, but amazingly the petrified flutter valve is still in place. Added to the mask by the previous collector owner, is a US m1917 steel helmet with a clear 27th Division emblem painted on the helmet's front. The helmet retains a partial liner but no chinstrap. With the grouping is a collector prepared file detailing the service of the soldier during the war.
