Description

Original era manufacture. A sound example of the standard Wehrmacht service bayonet of WWII. Clean blue steel finish blade with a sharp point, 38 date on the spine, with the makers name on the ricasso, RICH.A.HERDER, serial number 5901d. Dark plum bakelite grips in sound condition, corrosion pitting on the guard and face of the lock button. Mix of blue and steel patina finish to the pommel and one side of the guard. Steel scabbard with a mix of blue and patina finish, service denting on the reverse, cleaned corrosion on the reverse. Missing the throat screw.
