Description

Original era manufacture. Nice quality regulation pattern 1872 officers kepi in dark blue wool. Unbound tarred leather visor is securely sewn to the body of the hat. Thin gold wire chin strap which is secured to the body by two officers quality eagle buttons, each adorned with the letter C on eagle's chest. Black leather sweatband with a decorative stitched edge at the top, blue polished cotton lining with a black oilcloth covering to the underside of the top disc. Handsewn to the front of the kepi are gold embroidered crossed swords with a matching embroidery 3 above, all on a dark blue-black wool oval. No moth issues to report, a great looking hat which displays very well.
