US Pre Civil War M1850 Rifle Cartridge Box for Percussion Rifle

Original era manufacture. A very clean example of this scarce pattern pouch, about the size of a large pistol pouch but a tad larger. Measures 7x1.5x5 inches with a removable tinned steel cartridge container. Small size US box plate which measures 2.75 inches in length and secured with a leather thong passing through two iron loops. Two black leather belt loops on the reverse. Very sound condition, no dry rot, most of the original surface finish remains intact.
