Description

Original era manufacture. January 1914 dated issue coat, marked to the 12th regiment, 1914 dated wool enlisted belt secured with three elongated brass tabs, Hussar marked tag on the trousers, however through our research, is a pattern as worn by both types of mounted regiments. No moth issues are noted, colors are clean and bright. The enlisted Lancer helmet displays the plate for the 12th Regiment of Lancers, a regiment bearing the honors of South Africa 1851.2.3., Egypt, Central India, Peninsula, Sevastopol and Waterloo. The blue and white wool pom at the upper left, has the regimental button for the 12th regiment. The helmet is solid and near complete missing the plume. The brass linked, leather backed chinstrap is intact, however the stitching has broken away. The front leather brow piece of the sweatband may be a period replacement. Overall the set is a magnificent display piece.
