Sold
$95.00

Description

Original era manufacture. A spelter, or white metal statue of Dante Alighieri 1265-1321, the famous 13th century Italian poet, author of the Divine Comedy, Dante's Inferno. The original statue by Enrico Pazzi was created in 1865, and stands today in the city of Florence Italy. This souvenir stature stands 9.75 inches in height, with an antique bronze finish, and a paper covered underside to the base. This may date to the late 19th century as well, and is quite nicely done of good quality. We have owned this statue for at least 30 years or more, sitting on a shelf in my collecting room, quietly collecting dust.
