Description

Original era manufacture. Adopted in 1833, and manufactured in 1836, perhaps a veteran of Napoleon III's campaigns from 1854-1871. This pattern swordserved as an inspiration for our own M1840 Light Artillery Saber, being near an identical copy.Polished steel blade measuring 31.5 inches in length, with a bright finish, few shallow nicks in the cutting edge and areas of light staining along its length.Mellow brass patina finish to the guard and pommel, with period French markings on the side of the guard. Leather wrapped grip, bound with single strand copper wire. Dent free steel scabbard with what appears to be a nickel finish to the surface, both carrying rings are present.
