Japanese Katana, 25 Inch Blade, Carved Dragon

Original era manufacture. The polished steel blade measures 25 inches in length, on one side displaying a 6.5 inch carved dragon. The blade tang is plain on each side. The blade is clean, the point is sharp, with a very visible wavy temper line along the cutting edge. There is some scattered staining to the steel, with small spots of old cosmoline, telling us this was quite likely a WWII souvenir.Square shaped, iron tsuba with a cut-out decoration. Looks to be old original lacing on the grip, with gold decorated menuki within the lacing.Red lacquered wooden scabbard missing the loop on the side. The blade sticks a bit in the scabbard, no doubt due to the one-time cosmoline coating of the blade.
