Bakelite Bread Container

German Bakelite bread/sandwich container. The Bakelite ones are very hard to find. This one is in good condition with light wear including a few small scuffs. It has a nice pebbled lid. I did not see any cracks or other serious damage. There is a slight bubble in the Bakelite surface on the bottom piece. It is so slight that is was difficult to photograph. These were an important part of everyday life for Germans, so it is no wonder they found their way to the front lines as well. It measures about 6 1/2' by 4' X 2' deep. These were also produced after the war virtually unchanged making it basically impossible to say whether this is war time or early post war.
