Alresa Bakelite Cutter

Vintage small Bakelite cutter. Marked 'Alresa Qualität Pat. In -U. Ausl. Angem. Made in Germany'. Decent condition overall. It is a little dirty and does have some rust. The underside is a little gross. It only really makes a small edge cut, maybe 1/16 of an inch. I imagine it had a fairly specific use but I don't know what that would be. The base measures about 5 5/8' by 4 3/8'.
