Description

Original era manufacture and photography. This very extensive archive, honors the memory of SergeantHenry B Hagenbuch, who served on the Mexican Border in 1916 (13th Pennsylvania Infantry) and during WWI, with CompanyE, 53rd Pioneer Infantry Regiment. The archive consists of a fine quality, private purchase gabardine enlistedtunic and breeches, with a matching material overseas cap, and deluxe embroidered gabardine leggings.Affixed to the collar of the tunic are a M1910 US collar disc, and a very scarce pattern Infantry disc to Company E, 53rd Pioneer Infantry. Single, 1st Sergeant chevron on the right sleeve (correct for this era) and Honorable Discharge stripe on the left sleeve, with outlines of overseas and a circular divisional insignia, also on the left sleeve.Minimal moth issues, except for the overseas cap as it displays considerable wear, with vegetable plastic buttons throughout. The ephemera aspect of the grouping is quite extensive, soldiers paybook, shaving mirror, extra chevrons, several typed letters from the sergeant while serving in France, photographs of him, and a large 'Yard Long' group image of the 53rd Pioneer Infantry. Excellent research potential.
