German Dark Red Velvet Dress with Lace Collar(B-44' W-36' H-47')

Vintage 1930s red velvet dress with lace collar.MEASUREMENTS (approximate):Bust- 44'Waist- 36'Hips- 47 1/4'Length- 43'This is an interesting dress. The cut is renascent of the dropwaist flapper style dresses of the late 1920s and very early 1930s. It is slightly more tailored, leading me to believe it is early 30s and not 20s. However, someone added a side zipper sometime later. The sides and sleeves of the dress were also taken out. The dress has snap closures down the front and there is a snap at the end of each sleeve. The dress is probably handmade. The lace collars were popular in the 1930s/1940s - the last photo is from a 1937 yarn catalog.It is in good condition with no major flaws. The collar has yellowed with age and it has some discoloration along the neck. There is a white smudge inside the dress (not visible outside).
