German Wooden NCO's Whistle

Original WWI era wooden NCO's whistle. There is a little bit of wear around the lanyard hole, but is in good condition otherwise. It has the classic shape of a standard German whistle. There were many other whistles used in the army but this is the style most commonly associated with it. These switched to Bakelite production in the 1920's or early 30's and then switched to modern plastic production sometime in the 50's or 60's. Modern whistles are still produced today. The basic shape of this whistle hasn't changed in 100+ years. It measures about 2 1/2' long.
