WWI German Iron Cross Sweetheart Necklace

Vintage WWI German sweetheart necklace depicting an Iron Cross surrounded by leaves.It is unmarked and I am unsure of the metal content. The charm measures a little over an inch. The chain is approximately 18 inches long.It is in good condition with only very minor wear. There are scratches on the back.
