Description

Original period manufacture. Japanese WWII patriotic postcard, IJN Heavy Cruiser Kako. Completed in 1926, she served in the Pacific during WWII. During the Battle of Savo Island 9 August 1942 she participated in the sinking of the USS Astoria, Vincennes, Quincy and HMAS Canberra. On August 10 1942 she was torpedoed and sunk by the submarine USS-S4.
