US Civil War West Virginia Soldier's Document & Wallet Group, 6th WV Infantry

Original era manufacture. A fairly complete document grouping to one John Gallentine, who served as a Private in Company L, 6th West Virginia Inf'y from 1861-1865. The lot includes two certificates of service dated 1900, concerning his enlistment from 1861-1864, and a second for his service from 1864-1865.Several documents concerning his military pension, in June 1930 his allotment was increased to $100 per month; a sizable sum during the depths of the Great Recession.All of the above and other assorted documents are housed in a sturdy leather wallet or portfolio.
