Kriegsmarine U-boat Bordmutze cap - U-9

A super little grouping to include of an original wornKriegsmarine Bordmutzesidecap in dark blue cloth and later post-war produced U-9 veteran's woodenWappenplaque.Both of these items came together from the same estate in Germany of a veteran of U-9 'The Iron Cross Boat'.The cap itself still retains the original U-9 WWI style Iron Cross crew tradition emblem, plus the crewman's trade badge attached to the left of this. It is in well worn and honest condition, with the factory applied insignia all remaining intact to the front.U-9 was a type IIB U-boat and was one which saw service in a number of various roles from 1935 until ultimately being sunk by bombs during a Soviet air in August 1944!
