Description

Original era manufacture. Four pocket red wool tunic, with white wool cuffs and collar. Middlesex regiment badges on the collar, rank of Captain on the epaulettes, Middlesex buttons throughout.The tunic is unlined for tropical wear and is about a size 40 short. Scattered mothing, with some repairs to the fabric. The red color remains bright, with the white cuffs and collar toned from age. A scarce, Victorian era officers service tunic, of a pattern as worn in the Egypt & Sudan campaigns.
