WW1 German Propaganda Lithograph – Fat Man

Available
£14.00

Description

An original WW1 era German propaganda Lithograph showing the Fat Man, I think this is German Politician Matthias Erzberger, he was overall a pacifist although he supported the war, he campaigned for peace in 1917 stating enough German soldiers had died. He was an advocate for, fair treatment for POW's and attacked the way that Germany treated the African people in its colonies, nevertheless he got fat and gorged on the proceeds. This one needs a little more research. It was published in Lustige Blätter on 4th April 1917, this was a satirical magazine working between 1885 and 1944 in Berlin. It is in good condition and mounted with some minor signs of age and use, it measures 10 x 12 inches.
