WW1 French Bronze Medallion – Remembrance of the Combatants of Meudon 1914 – 1918 by L Coudray with Original case

Here on offer is a WW1 French Bronze Medallion, in remembrance of the combatants of Meudon 1914 – 1918, by Marie-Alexandre-Lucien Coudray, with its original red card case.The medal was designed by the famous French medallist, Marie Alexandre Lucien Coudray (1864-1932).On the obverse it depicts the image of a WW1 French soldier about to throw a grenade, with an angel with a laurel branch, above his head. Near the lower edge it is engraved, L Coudray.On the reverse it depicts the crest for the French city of Meudon and the words:Souvenir de la Grande GurreAux Combattaants Meudonnais1914 – 1918LA VILLE de MEUDONRECONNAISSANTE AThis roughly translates in English to read as:Remembrance of the Great WarTo the Combatants of Meudon1914 – 1918The grateful City of MeudonThe edge is plain apart from it has a tiny Paris maker's mark and the word BRONZE stamped into it.The medallion is in excellent condition and still retains the fine detailing along with a beautiful aged patina to the bronze.It also comes with its original recessed red card case, which is in great condition and a rare to find!The medal measures 1.9' (5cm) diameter and weighs 55g.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched.The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.Many thanks for taking the time to look.
