French Shooting Society of Canton de Stenay - Bronze Award Medal by Artis Bertrand

Here on offer is a French Shooting Society of Canton de Stenay, bronze award medal by Artis Bertrand.This large solid bronze medallion has on the obverse the image of three soldiers that seem to have been in a shooting competition, with the one in the centre holding up a 'winners' wreath.It has the engravers name just below the image, 'A. BERTRAND', which relates to the famous French engraver, Artis Bertrand.On the reverse it depicts a laurel wreath and in then centre the words:SOCIETE DE TIRDUCANTONDEMAROMMEAround the edge it has a tiny French maker's stamp, and the word: BRONZE.It measures 1.6' (4cm) diameter and weighs 30g.It is in great condition, with just a few tiny edge dings.
