Here on offer is a genuine WW2 1945 Victory & Peace celebrations medal and ribbon, that relates to the English town of Stourport-on-Severn.Stourport-on-Severn, often shortened to Stourport, is a town and civil parish in the Wyre Forest District of North Worcestershire, England, a few miles to the south of Kidderminster and downstream on the River Severn from Bewdley.The round medal is made of gilt metal plated bronze and on the obverse depicts the conjoined crowned busts of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth facing left.Around the border are the raised words:TO COMMEMORATE THE ALLIED VICTORYThen on the reverse it depicts Britannia, facing right, holding out a laurel wreath with her left hand, shield and trident to her side.It displays the following words:PEACEWITHHONOUR1945And around the border: STOURPORT - ON - SEVERNIt has the original red, white and blue silk ribbon which has been tied in a bow and attached to the medal suspension ring.The medal still retains a lot of the gilding and detailing to the images with some age patina.The ribbon is now slightly stained and creased as shown in my photos.The medal measures 1.3' (3cm) diameter and weighs 13g.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched.The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.Thanks for taking the time to look.
