WW2 German M43 Army Cap

A nicely field worn German army M43 cap with original zig zag sewn trapezoid insignia.This cap has all the fine detailing & specific attributes that one would expect to see on an original example, also a rare example to find with twill lining most being in rayon when production took off from midwar onwards. Bevo trap has been correctly zigzagged around , this thread matches exactly one of the two different types of thread used during the factory manufacture of this cap. A close examination of the wool mix ascertains a slight mixture of materials in its composition with very typical stitching methods seen to the reverse side of the button fastened front flap . Thread colour of the front flap button holes match sewing of the trapezoid insignia. Interior lining of cotton twill shows heavy wear with forehead area displaced allowing inspection of its internal construction.A fabulous well worn German army cap that has seen much service in WW2.
