Description

Original era manufacture. An early production dagger from an unusual maker, Otto Simon-Steinbach. The blade is bright, some original cross grain polish remaining, with lightly sharpened edges, and scattered age staining to the surface. Clear motto contrast to the blade.Alloy upper and lower guards, with an alloy eagle set into the grip, with an enameled SA disc above. A very thin surface crack in the grip, obverse side below the upper guard, and two short, thin cracks in the wood on the reverse; no chips in the wood. Unit marked BO on the reverse of the lower guard.Alloy fittings with all screws present on the scabbard, with a mix of original finish and surface corrosion to the scabbard body, with the typical denting to the ball tip.Original leather hanger attached to the suspension ring.
