Chrome and red paint WVS Civil Defence pinback badge. Introduced in late 1939/40 to replace the ARP pattern, initial issues had enamel lettering that was subsequently replaced by red paint as in this example. In excellent, bright condition contained in it's original box. Manufactured by L.Simpson, London.
