'Demjanskschild' citation of 'Gefreiten' Rolf Thieme who served in N.123 under command of the II.Armeekorps.The 'Demjanskschild' was instituted for those who participated in the defence of the besieged village of Demjansk (8-2-1941/21-4-1942)The document bears the standard stamped signature of 'General der Infanterie' Walther Graf von Brockdorff-Ahlefeldt who had died on 9-5-1943.Walther Graf von Brockdorff-Ahlefeldt commanded the forces within the Demjansk Cauldron and was honoured with his signature to the Demjansk citation!
