Available
£135.00

Description

An untouched 1939 dated MkII helmet that was sourced from the grandson of a Home Guard member that lived and served in the Midlands, England. The J.S.S (Joseph Sankey) stamped shell has received an early wartime khaki overpaint for HG use, it appears that the helmet started service in another roll as upon close inspection some lettering can be found to the front under the top coat, the letters AFB, are these a factory name or possibly an auxillary fire brigade ?There are areas of blistering/rust present on the shell which can be seen in the images, left as found and not cleaned, good early sprung sided webbing chinstrap. The cradle of the early MkI liner bears the makers details ''Helmets Ltd'' 1939 along with a large size stamp 7 1/2, undisturbed large brass bolt, the Rexene/oil cloth lining is slightly dry with age but still pliable, usual surface cracking present, remains untouched, still has cobwebs and dirt present.A genuine shed found HG helmet and never been messed with. Please study the images in regards to condition.Sorry UK sale only.
