Original era manufacture. A silver-gilt example of this famous award, presented during the reign of Louis Napoleon 1852-1870. Most of the blue enamel remains on the reverse, with some enamel repair on the obverse.The obverse displays the profile of Napoleon III, and the reverse, Valeur et Discipline.These awards were presented during Napoleon III's reignfor service in theCrimea, Italy, China, Mexico and of course the war with Germany 1870-1871. Complete with its original ribbon.
