The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) (42nd & 73rd Foot) - Victorian Issue Lacesset Spelling

Sold
£55.00

Description

A very pleasing die struck white metal badge with two original loops to the reverse (some service wera and bending to these). Victorian crown and sharp detail. This version with the motto spelling 'Lacesset' as opposed to the alternative version found 'Lacessit'. As is the case with all Black Watch badges there appears to be an inability to settle on the correct spelling of this word in the motto. Worn until 1902.K&K Vol 1 No 655 refers.Comm DaMc (665)
