WW1 Tank Corps Rifle Regimental Sweetheart Brooch

A rare original First World War period 'Tank Corps pin badge' in the form of a S.M.L.E gilt rifle mounted with a representation of the corps badge enhanced with red enamel Crown and blue enamel title scrolls. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minor enamel loss to both scrolls.Length approx 58mm.The 'Tank Corps' was formed in July 1917 from the 'Heavy Branch of the Machine Gun Corps' it became 'Royal' in 1924.ALL BROOCHES ARE SUPPLIED WITH A BRAND NEW BLACK PLUSH LINED PRESENTATION BOX.
