WW1 War Munition Volunteer war workers badge

An exceptionally good original example of a Great War period official 'War Munition Volunteer workers gilt brass and enamel badge' the central shield depicting crossed cannons set into a field of red enamel, the reverse with maker's details in relief 'J.R.Gaunt & Son Ltd London' and impressed with official comparatively low issue number '5622'. Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 45mm.
