A rare early turn of the century 'Leeds City R.N.L.I. Lifeboat Saturday' fundraiser's badge; large gilt metal example in the form of a lifebuoy with blue enamel title surround, the voided centre bearing a shield with the Coat of Arms of Leeds, three stars taken from the coat of arms of Sir Thomas Danby who was the first Mayor of Leeds over a golden fleece. Very good condition, no enamel loss, gilt finish remains bright, minor service wear.Diameter approx 32mm.
