BOAC Junior Jet Club pilots wing pin badge

A scarce original early pattern slim winged 'British Overseas Airways Corporation Junior Jet Club pilots wing gilt and enamel badge', the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt LONDON'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel. Width approx 49mm.The Junior Jet Club was formed on March 26th 1957. Every young passenger embarking on a B.O.A.C. aircraft was given a blue and gilt badge and a log-book in which to keep a record of all mileage flown. Mileage and flying times were entered in the log-book by the flight crew of the aircraft and certificates awarded for 25,000, 50,000, 75,000 and 100,000 miles.
