Stormgard waterproof motorcycle clothing advertising badge c.1920s

A good original circa pre-1928 motorcycle waterproof clothing promotional badge'; gilt brass circular example depicting an inverted triangle with the letter 'S' within blue enamel title surround inscribed 'Ye Ancient Order of Neverwets' and surmounted by a motorcycle and rider resting on a 'Stormgard' scroll. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel intact, minor dark stress mark to top scroll.Height approx 28mm.Stormgard was established shortly after the First World War. During the 1930s they would become one of the largest rainwear manufacturers greatly popular with the cyclist and the motorcycling community. In 1931 they began producing specialised clothing for the Air Ministry including flight suits.
